Convert a portable-diesel request into one movable-set RFQ. Do not reuse a stationary plant specification as the quotation card.

In this guide5 sections

A portable diesel generator is not a smaller stationary plant. Write the movement pattern first, then lock transport form, electrical identity, duty and service into one portable-set RFQ. Keep the card on HOLD while a plant specification is used as the quote. This page is for importers, distributors, rental fleets and mobile-service buyers. It is not a power-plant design guide.

Fuel-rate comparison belongs on the diesel fuel-consumption quotation checklist. Fuel-family choice belongs on gasoline versus diesel. Load listing belongs on what size generator do I need.

Name the movement pattern before comparing price

Write how the set will move: wheeled frame, lifting-frame, towable, truck-mounted, or another named mobile form. “Portable diesel” without that fork does not pass.

If the set will sit on a pad for months with no planned lift, it is not this page. Stationary enclosure, container and plant engineering stay off the portable card.

OSHA, Using Portable Generators Safely is outdoor-use and transfer-switch context. It does not classify a SKU as portable or planted.

Four movement routes: wheeled frame, lifting-frame, towable, and planted set that leaves this page
Mixing a planted plant spec with a movable SKU keeps the offer on HOLD.

Do not paste a plant sheet onto a portable RFQ

A stationary diesel generating unit (DGU) sheet names foundation, room air, exhaust routing, bulk fuel and often a different controller class. Those fields do not make two wheeled quotes comparable.

For a movable set, request: transport form, dry and wet mass, lifting points or hitch class, footprint, enclosure or open frame, and how service is done in the field. Missing lifting or towing identity is HOLD, not “same kVA class.”

Incoming crate checks stay on portable generator incoming inspection. That page does not choose the movement pattern.

Cells are request fields, not BEAR ratings.

Freeze electrical identity and duty on one portable card

Voltage, frequency, phase and outlets belong on the same sheet as the movement pattern. A loose “220/380 diesel” line does not choose the supply; use the voltage and frequency checklist and the outlet and plug guide.

Split rated and peak labels with the rated versus peak guide. Duty words such as standby or prime are HOLD until the seller names the document that owns them. ISO 8528-1 is generating-set terminology. It does not convert a plant kVA class into a wheeled SKU.

Diesel portable HOLD table

Field Passes HOLD
Movement Wheeled, lift, tow or other mobile form is named Only “portable diesel”
Plant mix Plant sheet is not used as the quote Foundation and room air copied onto a wheeled card
Transport identity Mass, lift points or hitch class written kVA class only
Electrical version Voltage, frequency, phase, outlets locked Generic 220/380
Duty Named rating plus owning document A duty word with no source
Service Field access and parts route named Assumed workshop service
Documents Manual, nameplate and quote revision match Files from a different enclosure class
Six RFQ passport rows: movement, transport identity, electrical version, duty document, field service and matching files
One passport makes movable-diesel quotes comparable. It is not a plant specification.
Robotic welding cell on a factory floor, visual context only
Workshop photograph for visual context only. It does not identify a BEAR model, rating, kit or test.

What to send with the request

State the market, application, how the set will move, load list or duty, voltage, frequency, phase, quantity, preferred model family if any, and the files you already hold.

Ask the supplier to return transport form without mixing a plant spec, electrical version, duty document, photos of lift points or hitch, the matching manual and what is excluded. Start from the diesel generator category. Configuration and commercial terms are confirmed only on the named movable set through the project form.
